THE youngsters at Rumah Kebajikan Sri Ratnavalli Ashram in Batu Caves, Selangor, were given a dose of festive cheer recently when employees of MNRB Holdings Berhad (MNRB) and its wholly-owned subsidiary company, Malaysian Reinsurance Berhad (Malaysian Re), visited the home.
In the spirit of Deepavali, the two companies presented an air-conditioning unit for the study area, a television set, a microwave oven, a stove, pillows, mattresses, a cash donation and food hampers to the home.
MNRB also donated a signage for the home.
Meanwhile, the employees of the companies also took the opportunity to cheer up the 13 orphans and poor children with gifts of cash.
The event was one of the many charitable activities organised by MNRB under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme to play its social role as a caring and responsible corporate citizen by giving back to the community.
The company also hopes that the involvement of its employees in such activities will enhance the family spirit and inculcate caring values among all employees of the MNRB Group.
